Linkedin Data Analysis for Content Impact and Network Growth

Objective:

The primary goal of this project was to uncover patterns among my LinkedIn connections, followers, and fans, as I am a content creator focusing on data science education. The analysis aimed to understand the impact of my content on network growth, engagement metrics, and job opportunities over the past two years.

Methodology:

Data Preparation and Cleansing: Utilizing Excel, I performed thorough data cleaning to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the LinkedIn data.

Data Analysis: I used Pivot Tables in Excel to analyze the data and extract meaningful insights, focusing on specific metrics related to my content creation.

Data Visualization: The findings were visualized using Tableau, creating an interactive dashboard that highlighted key aspects of my LinkedIn activity and its impact.

Data Points Analyzed:

Network Growth: Tracked the expansion of my LinkedIn network over the two years of posting content.

Engagement Metrics: Analyzed likes, shares, comments, and overall engagement with my posts.

Job Opportunities: Investigated the correlation between my content posting and the job opportunities that arose from it.

Technical Tools/Software:

  • Conclusion:

    Network Growth Analysis: Over the two-year period, my LinkedIn network expanded by 230% indicating a significant increase in connections. This growth was particularly notable in Q2 of 2022.

    Content Engagement Trends: My posts received an average of 1,023 interactions per post, with video-reels garnering the most engagement. The peak engagement was observed at the end of Q2, highlighting that the inclusion of video-reels attracted more engagement to my feed.

    Job Opportunities Correlation: Since beginning my content creation journey, I've noticed an increase in job opportunities, with 28 of new opportunities directly linked to my LinkedIn activities. These opportunities were primarily in the fields of technology.

    Audience Demographics and Preferences: My content was particularly popular among 20 – 45 year olds in the tech industry, with a noticeable preference for career advice and Data Science Insights.
